“Environmental awareness is an important principle for SPAR. In the spirit of this, we strive to use new solutions in almost all areas of our daily operation. Such an important area is paper reduction: we also strive for digital solutions for business network processes, and since 2019 we have been working to minimize paper use in this area, ”said Márk Maczelka, Spar Hungary’s communications manager.
The company’s latest initiative in the field of administration places emphasis on online solutions
For example, paper records of cleaning logs and refrigerator control sheets have been eliminated, with digital data available instead. As a result, in 2023, almost 14 tonnes of paper are used annually. The SPAR Online Shop has recently turned green as part of the SPAR Sustainability Program: the previously also replaced the previously paper -based delivery note with digital. This means more than 3 tons of material saved per year.
