”Not only the mouth, but also the eyes should be stimulated!” – Art exhibition on the occasion of World Spices Day with the support of Kotányi
The Élőfejek Art Group launched its highly successful exhibition called TRAKTA in 2002. The theme of the exhibition was given by the recipes found in the first printed cookbook in Hungarian. At that time, more than 50 creators formulated a visual opinion using the text of the recipes. We thought it was time for the second course, but we did not change the well-proven recipe: using the entire text of the recipe to create a graphic work of art!
The competition received more than 150 entries, which were judged by an expert jury. The best 60 projects will be presented at the exhibition opening on October 27, 2023 in Barabás Villa. The creator of the 3 best works and the Kotányi special prize winner also receive a cash prize.
Spices have played a prominent role in human history since the beginning. At first, people gained practice in using them based on direct experience, and later, combining the accumulated experience with scientific methods, the science of making and growing spices was formed. Kotányi has been proudly practicing this exciting profession since 1881.
