More than three quarters (79%) of the surveyed consumers buy canned food at least once a month. Since food cans can be stored for a longer period of time, they allow for more flexible meal planning, avoiding food waste. Inflation has also changed consumer behavior: 72% said they would not compromise on sustainability, and 30% of consumers are planning a smaller Christmas with smaller gifts, such as limited edition chocolates and candies, satisfying sustainability and cost considerations balance, as these are often packed in metal boxes.
