Kométa: Even sweet is salty
We find the unsalted food tasteless, and in the hands of many of us, the salt shaker is already there before the first bite – Kométa’s Daily Survey reveals.
So it is no wonder that Hungarian women consume twice as much and men three times more than the recommended 5 grams per day. The food label can help you orient yourself, but for example, the salt content of bakery products without a label stays hidden. And no one thinks about the amount of salt contained in sweet foods.
The consequences of exaggerated salt are severe: high blood pressure and heart disease can be developed unnoticed.
