KOMETA campaign: Put down your phone and experience Buona vita!

The main character of KOMETA’s first quarter campaign is the screen-hiding board. According to their recent research*, in the majority of Hungarian families, screens dominate meals together instead of conversations. Their goal is for their consumers to spend quality time with their loved ones and experience Buona vita! moments as often as possible. That’s why the weekly prizes of their campaign, which runs from January 15th to March 26th, are hidden boards, and the main prize is a trip to Sicily for 4 people.

The TV is on and at least one person is scrolling through their phone – this is how a shared dinner can be described in the majority of Hungarian families, according to the results of a recent representative survey by KOMETA. Only three out of ten Hungarians eat together with their family members and close friends every day, while only paying attention to them. To improve this ratio, the main slogan of KOMETA’s prize game running between January 15 and March 26, 2026 is “Put down the TV and experience Buona vita!”.

“Our survey shows that screens currently distract the majority of Hungarians even while eating, even though these occasions are important for maintaining our physical and mental health. Research also supports that the more often someone has the opportunity to have lunches and dinners in a good atmosphere with family and friends, the more balanced they become and can develop much healthier eating habits”

– said Ádám Dobos, KOMETA’s marketing manager. The central character of their latest campaign is the TV-hiding board. I would like to encourage those sitting around the table to make eating a real shared experience, one that is about delicious food and at least as much about listening to each other and connecting. Before they sit down at the table, they should put their phones in KOMETA’s promotional gift, the phone hiding board designed for this purpose.

During the 10-week promotion, 40 phone hiding boards will be awarded each week to those who upload the code of the purchase confirmation of at least 2 KOMETA products. The main prize is a 5-night trip to Sicily for 4 people. In addition to in-store appearances (shelf labels, floor stickers), the campaign is also supported by animated videos and Carousel posts on KOMETA’s social media platforms, as well as appearances on Youtube and Teads.

*About the research: The survey was conducted using the Europion mobile and web application data collection, interviewing 1,339 people in January 2026, and is representative of the Hungarian population over 16 years of age according to age, gender, educational level, type of residence and geographical location. The statistical margin of error of the survey is 2.3%, meaning that the percentage distributions presented above may differ by this much from what would have resulted from a survey of the entire adult Hungarian population. The research was conducted by Opinio Institute Kft. on behalf of KOMETA.
