Lower apple crop is expected this year
Smaller apple crop is expected this year than last year’s – Budai Gyula, Parliamentary Minister of State of the Ministry of Rural Development said in Nyíregyháza press conference on Wednesday.
Experts estimate that compared to last year’s 750 thousand tons of apples, this year, 500-570 thousand tons are expected – he said.
He added that in the largest growing area in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county 300-350 tons of apple harvests are estimated, while in the gardens of the Nyírség, harvest has already started. (MTI)
