Digital economy skyrocketing in the region
‘Digital Challengers in the Next Normal in Central and Eastern Europe’ is the title of McKinsey’s latest report that reveals: in the first five months of the pandemic – January-May 2020 – the digital economy grew almost twice as fast in Central and Eastern Europe than in the last two years, at a rate of more than 14 percent,. The study reveals that 12 million new online users appeared in the region in this period.
However, as the digital economy leaders grew faster than this last year, the region is lagging behind even more than before. Jurica Novak, McKinsey’s senior partner in the CEE region told: Central and Eastern Europe has further digital growth potential, and the pandemic turned out to be a turning point in the digital transformation process. //
