Twelve wine cellars of nine wine regions participated at this year's organic wine competition, held for the ninth time in the Hortobágy.
The jury, led by Kaló Imre winemaker tasted thirty-four organic wines. The winner of the white wine category became the 2008 vintage Aszú Essence of the Pendits Winery from Abaújszántó (Tokaj wine region), while the best red wine became the 2009 vintage Mészhegy Syrah wine of the Vincze Béla-winery. These producers can take part at the BIOFACH exhibition in Nurenberg in 2016, with the support of the Biokontroll Hungária. (MTI)
