István Kovács, secretary of Hotel Association of Hungary “As a main partner”

– How did you become exclusive partners of Hungexpo and Hoventa? – The former organiser, Hoventa Kft. was member of our association; Hungexpo took their place in the association as en exclusive member.

– How will Hoventa be different this year from your point of view? – The past couple of years’ recession left their mark on this prestigious event: the number of visitors and exhibitors fell. We will take an active part in this year’s event, for instance by organising a doorman competition in cooperation with Aranykulcs Association.

– What will visitors see at your stand? – We will introduce the Hotel Stars Union classification system, which we will use to evaluate commercial places of accommodation.

– What will happen at the doorman competition? – Participants will have to answer a 100-question test about the hotel industry and tourism; this will be followed by an oral test – hopefully in front of many spectators.

– What do you expect from Hoventa in the long run? – It is good to have such an event in Hungary. If Hungexpo will be able to realise its development plans, Hoventa might become a regional event attracting visitors and exhibitors from foreign countries too.
