The market of retail household chemicals expanded
Hungary's retail household chemicals and cosmetics market was worth roughly HUF 300 billion HUF in the twelve months to February, level with the previous twelve-month period, market research company Nielsen published their latest results.
When it comes to volume, the market expanded a slight 1%. The biggest increases, in value terms, among 20 product groups Nielsen tracks were seen for toilet paper, facial tissues, face and eye cream, and paper towels. Sales of these products rose 4-8%. Sales of insect repellent jumped 41% during the period as a wet spring and summer provided favourable conditions for mosquitoes. Hypermarkets accounted for 39% of sales in the segment and chemists for 27%.
