K&H: there are more and more pessimistic young people now, but many are optimistic about the future
Young people have a very mixed view of their current situation and their future. The K&H youth index was only +2 points in the fourth quarter, which is one of the worst results in the eight-year history of the survey. 32 percent of young people said they were satisfied, but 60 percent were optimistic about the future. According to the survey, the camp of “dissatisfied optimists” is the largest, and that of “satisfied pessimists” is the smallest.
On the whole, young people aged 19-29 see their current life as unfavorable, but many expect improvement in the future. In the fourth quarter of this year, the value of the K&H youth index, measured on a scale of +50 and -50 points, was +2 points. This is tied for the worst value with the result achieved in the fourth quarter of 2014. The K&H youth index measures how satisfied young people are based on several components, satisfaction with life, health, learning, work, financial situation, health, self-realization, independence, entertainment, and friends, K&H announced.
