K&H: The lack of professionals and exchange rate fluctuations hinder the operation of SMEs the most
Exchange rate changes are causing more and more problems for domestic businesses, according to the results of the second quarter of the K&H SME confidence index. After the shortage of professionals, the weakening forint hinders companies the most, but the lack of raw materials and the increase in costs also present them with serious challenges.
According to the latest results of the K&H SME confidence index, which shows the expectations of Hungarian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises for the next year, this is the biggest problem for businesses after the lack of professionals.
“Already one in three (33%) SMEs say that their company’s business is hindered by constant exchange rate fluctuations and the resulting uncertainty. This is a significant change compared to the previous quarter (24%) and compared to the value of a year ago (25%). As a result of inflation and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, since the May survey, the forint has weakened significantly compared to the euro, so it is also conceivable that currently it is not the lack of professionals, but exchange rate fluctuations that is holding back domestic SMEs the most”.
– the results were detailed by Zoltán Rammacher, head of K&H SME marketing and sales support.
