Less plastic at SPAR
The retail chain has reduced the weight of bottles of some of its own branded mineral waters and packed more fruits in smaller weighted nylon pouches or paked with degradable tape. SPAR Magyarország also employs other environmentally friendly packaging, manufacturing and operation technology solutions.
“As a large environmental company, SPAR pays special attention to significantly reducing the amount of plastic used, thereby significantly reducing the amount of waste that is slowly degradable or difficult to recycle. The company supports selective waste collection, is committed to recycling and strives to use environmentally friendly energy, cooling and lighting technologies in all of its stores. This year, we are reducing the packaging of some of our popular branded products, and in some cases completely replacing them, offering a suitable alternative for our increasingly environmentally conscious customers,” – Maczelka Márk, Head of Communications at SPAR said.
