NGM: two to three percent inflation would by healthy
Although the prices in May increased by half a percent, the average of inflation in the past five months is still minus 0.6 percent – Balogh László, Deputy Minister of State of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) told M1 news channel on Tuesday in response to the latest data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) .
The Deputy Minister of State explained that according to the convergence program submitted to Brussels in April, the government expects zero inflation from January to December. So the minus 0.6 percent of the first five months can be followed by a 0.6 percent increase in the coming months. He emphasized that it will be an incredibly slow, moderate increase in accordance with the trends. Balogh László added that a 2-3 percent inflation is usually normal in a healthy, stable economy.
