Retail survey: enrollment in school costs 20,000-30,000 HUF per child this year
On average, starting school costs HUF 20-30 thousand per child, but this amount can double, for example in the case of buying a new school bag – REGIO Játékkereskedelmi Kft. (REGIO JÁTÉK) informed MTI on Wednesday based on a survey.
The survey is based on REGIO JÁTÉK’s own sales data, as well as a July 22-28, 2022. based on an online research conducted between 1153 parents or grandparents of primary school-aged children. The research is not representative of the entire Hungarian population, but at the same time it is suitable for mapping the opinions of Hungarian families.
The company expects a 7 percent increase in basket value for online shopping and a 10 percent increase for traditional shopping compared to the previous year. A significant part of Hungarian families consciously prepare financially for a big shopping trip, the survey concluded.
Dávid Gyaraki, marketing manager of REGIO JÁTÉK, estimated the value of the average store purchase this year at HUF 7,513, while the online purchase at HUF 10,800.
According to the survey, almost half of the surveyed families spend HUF 10-20 thousand on basic school supplies, and a quarter spend up to HUF 20-30 thousand.
