The rise in agricultural purchase prices accelerated further in June

In June, the average purchase price of agricultural products was 20.5 percent higher than a year before, which is an increase of 3.1 percentage points from 17.4 percent a month earlier. The base effect may have played a role in the recovery, as the rate of appreciation slowed by 2.5 percentage points from May to June last year, to 4.5 percent. Potatoes and eggs showed the largest price increases.

Agricultural purchase prices have continued to rise.

The annual increase in the average purchase price of crop and horticultural products accelerated from 23.5 percent in May to 3.8 percentage points to 27.3 percent. Cereal prices were 37.4 percent higher than in June last year, the annual rise in wheat prices moderated to 24.0 percent from 31.1 percent in May, and the rise in maize prices rose further to 51.3 percent from 48.8 percent in May.
