The 2019 financial year was a success for SPAR
At the end of 2019 SPAR operated 34 Interspar hypermarkets, 328 SPAR and 20 City SPAR supermarkets, plus the retail chain also had 24 SPAR partner, 53 SPAR market, 85 OMV SPAR express and 28 Lukoil DESPAR retail outlets. One of the biggest developments was the HUF 4.2 billion Interspar project in Tata. On 6 May the SPAR online shops opened, offering a 20,000 SKU product selection and home delivery in the Budapest region. The meat processing plant in Bicske cooperates with 43 Hungarian suppliers and produces 39,850 tons per year. At the end of 2019 a new umbrella brand was launched, with the slogan ‘SPAR – for a sustainable future’ – this brings together the retailer’s environmental protection, healthy lifestyle, food safety, worker protection and CSR activities. SPAR’s 13,000 workers don’t only get competitive salaries but also various benefits.
