The Bonduelle factory in Békéscsaba can have a good year this year
The Bonduelle factory in Békéscsaba, which produces frozen and canned vegetables can close a great year this year. It is expected that 52-54 thousand tons of sweet corn will be processed this year, which is expected to be one of the largest production campaign of the past 10 years – Méhész András director told MTI.
He said that retail sales rose by 3-4 percent in Western Europe and Hungary, while big retailers (discount stores and hypermarkets) are growing with 3-4 percent a year as well, and this pace must be followed by the production.
The factory will buy sweetcorn from around 3000 hectares in Békés county, and about 1500 hectares from Hajdú-Bihar and Csongrád counties. (MTI)
