Manufacturer brands improved their position
In January-April 2015 toothbrush sales were worth more than HUF 1 billion. Value sales stayed put but volume sales fell 3 percent. Drugstores’ share from value sales was even higher than in the case of toothpaste, having increased 4 percentage points to 47 percent. Manufacturer brands realised 83 percent of value sales (up 1 percentage point). Electric toothbrush was sold for HUF 300 million in the examined period: value sales soared 21 percent and volume sales climbed 17 percent. 82 percent of the products sold were manufacturer brands (up 1 percentage point).
