Selected from home – domestic values on the shelves of PENNY stores
For Hungarian shoppers domestic products are guaranteed to taste better and be fresh. More and more people are consciously looking for food from Hungarian farmers.
PENNY wishes to satisfy this demand, so two-thirds of its product selection comes from domestic suppliers. As part of the “Selected from Home” programme, products bearing the well-known logo help consumers make conscious decisions and guarantee that the food comes from a Hungarian producer. More than 1,000 products carry the Hungarian Product label, while from PENNY’s private label offering the full Kedvenc Hentese and SISSY product lines are 100% domestic – this means 150 Hungarian meat and dairy products.
With Hungarian suppliers for the benefit of domestic agriculture
PENNY keeps strengthening its partnerships and aims to further increase the popularity of Hungarian groceries by developing local supply chains and encouraging conscious shopping. By giving preference to Hungarian products, PENNY not only supports domestic producers and consumers, but also contributes to job creation and a better foreign trade balance, by this promoting the strengthening of the Hungarian economy. This strategy also helps in achieving sustainability goals: a shorter supply chain guarantees fresh products, reduces transport distances and requires less storage, thus resulting in a smaller ecological footprint.
