ITM: online sales is already soaring high before the end of the year

In the first month of autumn, retail brought back the pre-coronavirus expansion level. According to the Central Statistical Office, the turnover of domestic stores increased by almost 6 percent in September compared to a year before. A record year will certainly be closed again in online sales in December after 2020, Cseresnyés Péter, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) concluded.

This year could be a record year for online sales

The ministry’s announcement recalls that retail performance has steadily improved from the summer of 2013 to the onset of the pandemic in Hungary, over 80 months. The drastic downturn in April last year was followed by a tight year. However, from the second quarter of this year, the statistics showed an increase every month, compared to the same period of the previous year. (MTI)
