Coca-Cola won the “Display of the Year” again
The topic at the last Trade Marketing Club meeting this year was the role of the design. After three professional presentations the award ceremony of the POPAI Awards POP competition took place.
The organizers created a hybrid event, but due to the lockdown measures, they finally hold the Trade Marketing Club Design = Shopper loyalty meeting online, which is also the award ceremony of the 11th Hungarian POPAI Awards.
Color, shape, mood
Nearly seventy attended at the joint online event of the Trade Marketing Club and POPAI on November 12th. At the gathering time, the participants greeted each other with sincere joy. Zsuzsanna Hermann, one of the founders of the Club, greeted the virtual participants and Ágnes Csiby, President of POPAI, introduced the speakers.
The advantage of the online meeting is that, although only on screen, we can see faces without masks, real smiles – remarked Bálint Török, business unit head of Wanzl, who gave the first presentation. In his presentation, he covered international and domestic trends, one of the common features of which is the fresh focus and increased sales. In addition to the French, Italian, Spanish and German stores designed and implemented by Wanzl, the material illustrated with many pictures also showed how the trends make the sales space visible through the transformation of Hungarian stores.
Contactless information
Gábor Csicsai, the leading designer, interior designer and architect of Mangrove Kft., focuses on the developments in the COVID period. He believes that spectacular, futuristic, new trends, cubic, bourgeois restaurant designs are more for the design profession and the media, they are not actually implemented. Consumers are much more attracted to what is desired and now unattainable by the old normal. It is expected that the needs, sustainability, environmental protection and digitalisation before the pandemic will come to the fore again from the spring, supplemented by a focus on cleanliness, contactlessness, in which digital solutions can represent progress. They expect a merger of online and traditional stores in a clean, orderly form.
Traffic generation, impulse zones
László Banu, the head of Artconcept Design Kft., has been designing commercial and HORECA spaces since the nineties. In addition to the design aspects, he considers it important to emphasize the possibilities and means of increasing traffic already during the planning and redesign phase. In addition to the spectacle, the possibilities of accessibility, walkability and impulsivity are found in the spaces. It is also important for them that customers feel comfortable, love the spaces created and are happy to come back there. In his examples, he presented major transformations when, as a result of their design, the featureless rooms were reborn and turned into a cozy, progressive, homely shop, café or even an office canteen.
