Livestock farming therefore needs solutions that both ensure animal welfare and minimise the negative environmental impacts of animal production. On-Farm research by the Research Institute of Organic Agricultural (ÖMKi) on pasture-based cattle farming uses mainly digital sensors to monitor and improve animal welfare while minimising losses. Digital devices can be used to monitor the health of each animal, allowing early disease detection and rapid intervention at individual level. //
