This year, for the seventh time, Borsodi Brewery prepared its sustainability report, which summarizes its efforts in the field of economic, social and environmental sustainability in the previous year. According to the latest report, the company – continuing previous trends – operated stably even under extraordinary circumstances, introduced several new brands to the domestic market, and placed significant emphasis on community building.

As it has done every year since 2019, Borsodi Brewery has now published its sustainability report, which shows that the company’s strategy continues to fit into Molson Coors’ global Our Imprint framework. Aligned with the goals set along two pillars – people and planet – the three key areas of environmental focus are water, climate and packaging; the social pillar strengthens employee well-being, diversity and ethical operations.

The report also shows that in addition to market launches and, among other things, support for the Hungarian national football team, Borsodi Brewery also considered the development of communities important last year.

Regarding the results, Zsolt Vuleta, CEO and Commercial Director of Borsodi Brewery, spoke about the relationship between tradition and development:

“The more than five-decade history of Borsodi Brewery is defined by continuous development and renewal. Our goal is to serve the needs of our consumers and partners efficiently and with the highest possible quality. To this end, we expanded our alcohol-free portfolio last year, improved our production efficiency and remain committed to giving back to the communities where we are present. Our efforts are justified by the fact that In 2024 – despite the market challenges – we were able to increase our net sales by nearly 15%. We are convinced that one of the most important foundations of our success is the strength of these communities and the people we work with every day.”

Accordingly, this year too, Borsodi Brewery organized and supported initiatives that strengthen the health, responsibility and sustainability of communities, as part of the traditional sustainability month.

Already during the summer, at the festivals it supports, it called on partygoers’ attention to responsible alcohol consumption with a video. This was the second time this year that the brewery collaborated with Aktív Magyarország, so in September they held health days in Bőcs and Budapest. At the traditional cooking competition held at the Bőcs Boathouse, the company’s colleagues collected non-perishable food for the Felsőzsolcai Nagyksaladosok Egyesülete (Large Families Association). On October 10, those interested could listen to a presentation on sustainable fashion by Eszter Mengyán (Holy Duck), and an in-house used clothing exchange program was announced. In addition, between September 22 and December 7, Borsodi Sörgyár will participate in the “Lép a cég!” in a national challenge, where every step taken counts for the 1 million forint support for schools and for our own health.

This proves that Borsodi Brewery considers the protection of environmental values, serving the needs of consumers and building communities to be a priority task in the future.

On the importance of community, Zsanett Zsadányi-Nagy, HR Director, highlighted:

“At Borsodi Brewery, we believe that excellent products and cutting-edge technology only truly achieve their goals if we also pay attention to our colleagues. We create a stable, safe and inclusive environment where everyone can develop, learn and be themselves. The Top Employer certification and the HBLF Fair Workplace recognition are proof for us that we are on the right track: the well-being and professional development of our employees is the foundation of our success.”

Borsodi Brewery has been awarded the Top Employer certification in Hungary several times, which confirms the excellence of its HR practices. In addition, the company was awarded the Excellent Qualification in the Diversity and Fairness Workplace Award at the HBLF competition.
