Inflation report: the catch up of the Hungarian economy continues
Despite the slowdown in external activity, the Hungarian economy will continue to catch up in the next period – Balatoni András, Director of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) said at the Central Bank’s press conference on Thursday in Budapest.
He stressed that inflation would decrease significantly in the summer months, with tax-filtered core inflation to rise slightly in the coming months, then will decline from the end of the year.
The MNB published its key figures on Tuesday: According to the forecasts, the central bank raised its inflation and growth forecast: it raised its inflation expectations from 3.1 percent to 3.2 percent, and improved its growth forecast from 3.8 percent to 4.3 percent. (MTI)
