These are the prices in Michelin-starred restaurants compared to the region
Now that rural restaurants have also joined the list of Michelin-starred places, the number of recommended catering units has increased to 62. The five-to-fifteen-course menus of old and new Michelin-starred restaurants can be tasted for 29,000 to 69,000 forints, but it is questionable how much this year’s sprinkling of stars will raise the prices.

Currently, one restaurant in Budapest and one in Tata have two Michelin stars. The Stand’s six-course menu is currently HUF 54.9 thousand, the Platán Gourmet’s ten-course menu is HUF 59 thousand, and the twelve-course menu is HUF 66 thousand without the wine pairings, which are calculated for HUF 28-36 thousand, but with the payment of a service fee of more than 10 percent, VG points out. .
Hungarian restaurants with two stars are cheaper than, say, Viennese restaurants, but in the one-star category, the difference is big everywhere. The most expensive Hungarian one-star hotel is now Babel Budapest’s 13-course menu, which costs HUF 69,000 – plus the wine pairing is HUF 29,500 – and all this is supplemented by the 17.5 percent service charge, which is also considered the highest. The most modest pricing can be seen at the 29,000 HUF five-course menu of the 42 restaurants in Esztergom, the prices in Hungary are scattered between those of these two restaurants.
