Hungarians love quick meals

The General Assembly of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) dr. On the proposal of Pál Romány, Hungarian Minister of Agriculture 43 years ago, he decided to make October 16 World Food Day. Since then, every year on this day, the founding of the organization in 1945 is commemorated in more than 150 countries around the world, making the event one of the most significant days of the United Nations. The goal is to draw attention to the hungry and to the fact that food, adequate nutrition, is still not provided for everyone.

The organization considers it important to highlight that countries and producers, farmers and companies have a role to play in the complete eradication of hunger. In agreement with this, the cooperation between Ben’s OriginalTM produced by MARS Hungary and the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület made it possible to distribute a total of nearly sixty thousand portions of food in the first half of 2022. The brand’s “Everyone gets a place at the table” equal opportunity initiative dedicated this year to supporting food for the needy and intends to continue this in the future.

The representative research conducted in connection with the World Day provides a comprehensive picture of the eating habits of the population of Hungary.[2] Most people associate dinner with breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a conversational meal with family and friends. The proportion of people who skip the evening meal is negligible, and a quarter of the population aged 18-65 consider it their main meal, when they eat most of their meals. A home-cooked dinner is clearly the most common scenario. However, for half of the respondents, it is important to choose something that can be prepared quickly.
