As Valentine’s Day approaches, many people are already planning where to get their holiday flowers. You can find flowers not only in flower shops, but also in the flower sections of supermarkets and department stores, where you can also find sales. Industry players advise not to leave the purchase to the last minute.

According to the announcement of the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy, 80 percent of customers traditionally buy red roses on Valentine’s Day. During this period, traders meet the demand with a large amount of imported roses, and the price of roses can increase significantly due to the high demand.

Many people also choose various accessories for the flowers, such as lettered wooden hearts, pretty bows, and heart-shaped pins. In recent years, spring bulbs such as daffodils and hyacinths have become increasingly popular. These are fresh and vigorous on the shelves of flower shops and are often domestically grown – reports Hello Vidék.

Larger stores such as ALDI, Lidl, Auchan, Tesco and Spar are also preparing for Valentine’s Day. ALDI, for example, finds that customers mostly choose tulips, which are available in several colors, while Lidl offers a wide selection of potted and cut flowers in addition to value-for-money chocolates and flowers.

Auchan is mainly made with potted flowers, where roses and tulips are the most popular cut flowers. Tesco is prepared with bouquets of string roses and tulips, while Spar is experiencing increasing demand for all types of flowers, especially string roses.
