Coop Rally this year again
71 cars entered the third Coop Rally held this year. This race is an excellent tool for promoting excellent quality and safe Hungarian food. According to József Gráf, minister of agriculture, this event is also an important means of establishing a closer link between agricultural suppliers and a retail chain where 90-95 percent of the products sold are of Hungarian origin. This year, Sándor Gazdag, CEO of Tisza-Coop Zrt. and Attila Gazdag, senior sales and marketing manager of Co-op Hungary Zrt. finished in first place. The Co-op chain has 3000 units and generated total revenues of HUF 440 billion last year. Co-op achieved growth of 11.8 per cent in revenues in the first half of 2008. Coop will also launch a new private label product line this year.
