The NAK Szántóföldi Days were successful again this year
The NAK Szántóföldi Days and Agricultural Machinery Show–Mezőfalva on June 5-6, 2024 took place again with great interest. At the country’s largest arable exhibition, the organizers focused on presenting sustainable farming methods and tools adapted to climate change.
The National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) organized the NAK Szántóföldi Days and Agricultural Machinery Show – Mezőfalva open-air agricultural exhibition in cooperation with the National Association of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Dealers (MEGFOSZ) again this year, on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Traditionally, since 2017, this is the largest field event in the country, held on more than 40 hectares, which was once again hosted by fields near Mezőfalva in Fejér County.
The organizers focused on the presentation of sustainable farming methods and tools adapted to climate change
Technologies that support precision farming and the efficient use of input materials were also available at the event. This time too, a wide range of programs awaited agricultural entrepreneurs and farmers, helping them to make informed professional decisions. At the largest outdoor exhibition of stationary and moving machinery in the country, the widest range of agricultural machinery could be viewed, and visitors could also observe the most modern tools, machines, and machine connections in action at the moving machinery exhibition. In addition, there were season-appropriate variety demonstrations, micro-plot and demo-plot plant cultivation demonstrations, as well as drone demonstrations and professional round-table discussions. The theme of the exhibition included soil renewal management, biodiversity, water management, and modern, effective forestry solutions. On the Szántóföld Days, GOSZ-VSZT was also awarded the prizes for wheat, rapeseed and corn variety trials. The basic purpose of the experiments is to provide producers with objective information that can be used every year, thus helping them to choose the right variety.
Everyone feels the increasingly frequent droughts, soil loss caused by too much water or wind, dust storms
Therefore, soil renewal agricultural practices are starting to gain ground worldwide – a presentation and a related round table discussion at the event were also based on this topic. At the event, those interested could learn about American practices, and there was an opportunity to exchange ideas between experts and farmers. Experience shows that by reducing the intensity of tillage, by leaving the stem residues on the farmland, by choosing the technology that protects the soil and conserves moisture, it is possible to produce with lower production costs in the long term and to achieve a more stable yield.
