Scania ended an excellent year in 2006. Revenues, income and cash-flow reached an all time record. Registered orders were 44 per cent up compared to the previous year. Production capacity is being expanded to 80 000 vehicles per year by the end of the first quarter of 2007. Scania is investing SEK 2 billion into the expansion of its global production capacity, in order to expand it to 100,000 vehicles by 2008. In Hungary, Scania sales reached 504 vehicles, an all time record. They also began developing new premises in East Pest, near the M3. This investment amounts to EUR 3 million and will be completed in mid 2007. Delivery periods in the Hungarian market are generally 5-7 months, which means their stocks for the year will be sold out in a few months. The sales objective for this year is 500 vehicles again, but chances are high that this quantity will be surpassed. Services provided by Scania like the Scania Optimum complex financing package have proved to be extremely popular. Most of the income generated by Hungarian forwarding businesses comes from Western Europe, which means that the effects of Hungarian economic restrictions are generally compensated for. As a result, Scania can feel relatively secure about its clients.
