The food price cap may remain until Easter
According to the latest press reports, the government would extend the price freeze until Easter. In addition, the government envisages greater penalties than at present, as well as stricter controls, because they do not take kindly to the increasingly serious shortage of price-fixed products.

Price caps may remain until Easter
Portfolio has learned from several different sources that the government plans to extend the food price freeze until Easter. As is known, the price caps officially last until the end of December, but according to the paper, the government would extend them. As you know, the issue was already on the agenda at the last government meeting, and the price cap on food was widely supported in government circles.
According to the sources speaking to Portfolio, due to the unabated demand and the ever-shrinking supply, it is already clear for some products that if the price cap is extended, imports will come to the fore, so that the retail chains will be able to purchase fewer and fewer domestic products, since foreign products are much cheaper they can buy.
