Magazine: The Hungarian Product trademark doesn’t only attest place of origin
The Hungarian Product trademark certifies both product origin and quality, following a multi-stage, independent evaluation by experts. What is more, it also serves as an extra check whether the given products complies with the related regulations. It takes about a month to perform the audit of a new product or service that wishes to earn the trademark. The price of this is HUF 75,000 for 1-10 products, and HUF 5,000/product above 10 products.
Those products which are granted trademark use can do so for 3 years; there are annual reviews during this period. Hungarian Product trademark users must pay a licence fee, which is in accordance with the company’s sales revenue, e.g. if a business realises HUF 50 million annual sales, the licence fee is HUF 25,000 for six months. //
