Csaba Osváth – Kunyhó confectionery (Budapest): We were open during the COVID pandemic and this used up all our savings, but we simply couldn’t close and lay off 25 people. Never had a plan B and never will: we are going to keep working.
Csilla Barabás – Édes-Gyömbér confectionery (Budapest): There is no other choice but to look forward and try to find new ways to bring in guests – with new desserts, thematic days and extra services. I do believe that there will be demand for quality in 2023 too.
Sándor Marján – Marján confectionery (Eger): This year we expanded the confectionery, so there is no other way to go but forward. Everything will be going on as planned.
Norbert Tóth – Tóth confectionery (Dunaföldvár): As far as I can see, the only solution is to wait until the conditions get better. Our prices have increased only minimally. We can’t influence the purchasing power of customers. 2023 won’t be any easier than last year.
László Gyuris – A Cappella confectionery (Szeged): We have rationalised production, replaced some of the old products with new ones, and streamlined certain work processes. It has never occurred to me for a minute to close the confectionery…
Balázs Sitkei – Stella confectionery (Paks): It seems to me that soon it will be a luxury to visit a confectionery. I plan to do thematic weeks and a French café gourmand type menu. The first quarter of the year will decide many things.
Barna Hajduk – Végvári confectionery (Budapest): We are facing a very difficult period. There aren’t many ways to cut costs further. We are reshaping our product selection, and due to the lowering demand we are also producing less.
Beáta Márkus – Bejó confectionery (Békéscsaba): Our confectionery’s energy costs have been high for many years, so the energy price changes didn’t really affect us. Everything goes on as it used to, our guests are loyal – we are hopeful.
Krisztián Pálffy – Pálffy confectionery (Győr): I believe that we need to focus on the middle class, because even if their financial situation isn’t really improving, they regularly spend the majority of their income at the place where they live. //
