Jenő Rácz showers his wife with cold sausage
The renowned chef represents top gastronomy in his restaurant, but within the walls of his home he leaves fine dining behind and settles for a cold hot dog.
Sometimes even professionals make mistakes and the bravest ones proudly admit it. Jenő Rácz did the same recently, sharing with his followers on his social media page that the hot dogs he chose as a snack exploded due to the heat. “I’ve been in the business for twenty years, but I never thought that the exploded hot dog would become nationally, but hopefully world-famous one day,” the Michelin-starred chef revealed with a laugh on Sláger Reggel, who doesn’t deny that he lives and dies for this dish. “Not many people know about me, but I love hot dogs anyway. This is a product that, if it’s of good quality, is the trump card. If there are hot dogs at home, but there’s nothing else, I’m perfectly fine with it. However, I’m too lazy to put them in water and cook them normally. I usually microwave them, 40 seconds and they start to sizzle. You should stop them at that moment or a little before that so they don’t burst. Well, that didn’t work this time,” admitted Jenő Rácz, who sometimes even skips this step. “I sometimes eat them cold, but that’s already a very “mean” level. When Dóri and I plan an evening, home series and I show up with cold hot dogs, he rolls his eyes,” added the internationally recognized chef, who also tries to learn from his mistakes. “It’s rare that we make mistakes in the restaurant, we maintain such strict professional frameworks that if we do run into something somewhere, it tends to lead to a new recipe, a new direction. At home, however, I’m just a hungry mouth and every minute is spent trying to survive,” the star chef revealed.
