A shortage of professionals
The Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) has worded a letter to the director of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (BKIK) educational director, asking them to put the cook and waiter professions on the list of trades for which there is great demand. Secondary or vocational school students who decide to study trades mentioned on this list are entitled to receive a monthly grant of HUF 10,000-50,000, depending on how the good the person’s academic results are – states a ministerial decree. Another criterion of being eligible for the grant is that the student studies in a state-financed institution’s regular programme. //
