HENT: every seventh Hungarian bought fake products in the past year
In the past year, 14 percent of the population purchased fake products at least once, while in the previous year this figure was 13 percent – the National Board Against Counterfeiting (HENT) informed MTI on Wednesday.
According to the report of HENT, 9 percent of the domestic consumers bought false products more than once, while it was 8 percent a year earlier. The place of residence and the age significantly influence the purchasing propensity. While in Budapest, 25 percent of the respondents bought fake products in the past year, the same proportion is much lower in the villages, only 8 percent. 18 percent of the young and the young middle-aged bought fake goods, while this rate among people over sixty is 4 percent.
