Henkel: 3,000 accident-free days
Henkel Adhesive Technologies’ multi-technology adhesive factory in Kornyei has provided further evidence of its outstanding safety culture: 3,000 days have passed without a lost-time accident. This result is not only outstanding in the factory’s history, but also a confirmation for the company that consistency in focusing on employee safety leads to lasting, measurable success.
For more than eight years, the Kornyei factory has continuously and without interruption provided its employees with an environment where safety, awareness and mutual attention are not only an expectation, but a natural part of everyday life. The commitment of the employees, strict compliance with the rules, responsible risk management and constructive dialogue are all factors without which this significant result would not have been achieved.
“3000 accident-free days are a clear sign of how strong we are as a community. Success is the joint achievement of all our colleagues, but it also reminds us that safety is not a stop, but a never-ending journey. We must continue to develop, innovate, learn and constantly pay attention to each other”
– said Zoltán Kocsis, head of Henkel’s nearby factory.
As part of its global sustainability strategy, Henkel treats the well-being and health of its employees as a priority, just like environmental protection or responsible corporate governance. The company aims to implement operations that are sustainable in the long term, and in which safety, social responsibility and environmental awareness are given an emphasis. The daily operations of the nearby factory also reflect this: sustainability objectives are integrated into energy use, process optimization, the development of solutions aligned with the principles of the circular economy and cooperation with suppliers.
In addition to maintaining accident-free operations, the factory places special emphasis on strengthening awareness. One of the tools for this is the annual Safety Day, where employees can expand their knowledge on occupational health, safety and environmental protection through playful, interactive, educational programs. The event aims to refresh and deepen existing knowledge so that colleagues can make safety-conscious decisions both in and outside the workplace.
However, the factory’s success is not only reflected in its safety indicators. According to the 2025 Randstad Employer Brand Research, Henkel’s employer appeal in Hungary is increasing year by year, both in the FMCG and industrial segments. This is particularly notable in the case of the nearby multi-technology factory, which produces adhesives for several industries and is considered one of Henkel’s three most significant plants internationally due to its complexity. The site produces products for the consumer, professional and industrial markets in more than 45 countries, making it a key player not only domestically but also globally.
Henkel Hungary once again won the BeneFit PRIZE – For Happy Employees large company award this year, further strengthening the company’s commitment to employee well-being. This award and the accident-free operation both show that people are at the heart of the company’s culture.
