SPAR launches supplier system for local producers
SPAR starts a supplier system for local farmers and food companies: small family businesses and sole traders can use the Regional Treasures programme to appear with their products in SPAR stores – which already source 90 percent of the groceries they sell domestically. The HUF 1.7-billion programme seeks to integrate small farmers at a regional level.
At the same time the initiative also wants to find the shortest transportation routes, by this contributing to sustainable farming and production. As part of the Regional Treasures programme, SPAR is going to establish six regional supplier centres, in Nyíregyháza, Pécs, Győr, Székesfehérvár, Zalaegerszeg and Hódmezővásárhely, plus it will also start a supplier academy programme. In the districts of these six cities 10-13 regional SPAR stores will join the scheme. www.spar.hu/regiokkincsei (x)
