We need locally and sustainably produced energy
Due to Hungary’s large energy exposure, we need locally produced and sustainable, environmentally friendly energy – said Attila Steiner, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, at a press conference in Esztergom on Wednesday.
He added that the government launched the green national consultation in order to assess where the population’s demand for the transition to green energy is greatest and to launch various support programs accordingly.
The state secretary spoke about how the country can make significant progress in the field of electric transport, and that geothermal energy is Hungary’s talent, which has much greater potential than we are currently exploiting.
Attila Steiner reminded that the utility reduction was maintained despite all the difficulties, and recalled that the rising energy prices encouraged everyone to use sparingly, thus reducing the country’s gas consumption by approximately 20 percent.
