Diets in our country are also unthinkable without meat
One third of the population pays particular attention to their nutrition, and even, according to their own admission, they eat consciously. Almost the same number of people admitted that they follow some kind of special diet, according to Pápai Hús Kft.’s online research on conscious nutrition and meat consumption involving more than 4,000 people. Health and aesthetic reasons are mostly behind the decision, but there are those who have decided on unique diets specifically to protect the environment. The results of the research show that we can clearly call ourselves a meat-eating nation.
Conscious nutrition is becoming more and more popular here and already has a strong following among the population – the results of the research carried out by Pápai Hús in April of this year point out. According to a survey involving slightly more than 4,000 people, 20 percent of those surveyed accurately keep track of the amount of calories they take in each day, but more than half of the respondents (55.6%), for example, also pay attention to the fat content of the meat products and preparations they buy. The survey also reveals that most people (16.4%) eliminate sugar from their diet, presumably because of diabetes or the risk of it.
Almost 30 percent of respondents said they chose a special diet or follow a diet for health reasons, while about 15 percent attributed their decision to weight problems. A small (2%), but clearly visible circle justifies its diet by protecting the environment.
It is no exaggeration to say that we are a meat-eating nation. Almost 90 percent of the respondents mark meat and processed meat products as indispensable components of their diet. Thus, it is perhaps not surprising that 96 percent of consumers eat meat several times a week – but many of them (33%) eat meat even daily. The popularity of meat is high even among dieters. Broken down into details; 63 percent of respondents include any kind of meat in their diet.
