Sixty billion for the SMEs
At the beginning of the crisis, 111 billion HUF was transferred to the support of small and medium-sized enterprises – states the Minister of Economy. According to Varga István, 60 billion HUF was already spent.
In Hungary, 678 thousand enterprises are operating. Ninety-nine percent of the companies are small-and medium-sized enterprises. The SMEs employ about 70 percent of the business sphere, that is, 1.7 million people, and they pay 60 percent of the business taxes.
It is important for the government to help the situation of SMEs, facilitate their access to tender money, reduce the bureaucratic barriers and to promote job creation and conservation programs – said Varga István, National Development and Economy Minister.
