A new life for used tools — our contribution to the circular economy

Sustainability and efficiency with INTERGAVEL

In today’s economic environment, no business can afford to let unused equipment gather dust in the warehouse or take up space in the business or plant area. The more efficient use of resources is not only a logical decision, but also one of the main objectives of the European Union is the transition to a circular economy. It is a production and consumption model that seeks to extend the life of products instead of encouraging traditional, one-time use. How can we make this happen?

This is where INTERGAVEL’s auction service comes into play: in the case of used industrial assets, we help sellers and buyers find each other, and we not only offer a platform for smooth transactions, but also manage the entire process in a complex manner, from the survey to administration to the organization of delivery.

Since internet auctions are becoming more and more popular, just as the number of online purchases is constantly increasing, today we only organize online auctions. This form of sales is particularly popular and beneficial for both parties, as it is clean, transparent and safe.

INTERGAVEL usually plays an intermediary role between sellers and buyers and does not carry out acquisitions, but these days there is an increasing demand for this, and of course we do not shy away from it.

Over the past few years, we have helped in the sale of equipment for complete plants on several occasions, such as the cheese factory of ERU or the hamburger plant of Lantmännen Unibake Hungary. This year, we auctioned the complete machine park of a closed pizza factory, and in the HoReCa sector, the kitchen and guest room equipment of a well-known restaurant in Buda and a restaurant in Szeged came under our virtual hammer. At our special auction, before the reconstruction and renovation of a five-star hotel in downtown Budapest, we helped in the complete sale of the former equipment of the hotel rooms, while the buyers could bid on office furniture on behalf of Henkel.

A good example of an auction related to the modernization of a large food industry company is Sole-Mizo and Pick, where we successfully sold production lines, logistics equipment, and other equipment that became redundant in connection with the modernization. Several members of the Bonafarm Group are among our partners, as we have already organized online auctions for Bóly Zrt., Dalmand Zrt., and Csányi Pincészet, active in the agricultural sector.

Today’s trend is for well-prospering companies to optimize their costs and get rid of their redundant assets. We often come across barely used equipment, for example forklifts with a few operating hours, as happened recently at a large Swiss company’s pet food factory in Transdanubia.

Our regularly auctioning multinational partners mainly come from the commercial sector, as used machines and equipment need to be updated from time to time. This may affect the vehicle fleet, business equipment or even bakery equipment. Our ordering partners include Auchan, Lidl and Tesco. The latter chain of stores is currently running auctions of refrigerated vans that deliver online purchases, the winning bidders of which can take home vehicles that are still perfectly usable for their small business from the locations in Budaörs and Budapest (Soroksár Megapark).

In summary, one of the key elements of the circular economy and the 3R (reduce-reuse-recycle) concept is reuse, during which companies pass on unused equipment to each other, and INTERGAVEL is the best domestic partner for companies in this regard.
