Economic growth accelerated in Europe
Economic growth accelerated in Europe both in the European Union as a whole and in the euro area in the last quarter of last year – according to the first estimates released by the European Union’s statistical office (Eurostat) on Tuesday.
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the gross domestic product (GDP) in the euro zone increased by 0.5 percent, while in the European Union expanded by 0.6 percent, compared to the previous quarter ended on 31 December.
In the third quarter, the economy of the Eurozone increased by 0.4 percent, while the EU by 0.5 percent in the quarterly comparison. (MTI)
