Toys and games: efficient displays
Displaying products is especially important in the toys and games category. However, displays don’t result in a higher proportion of impulse buying in the category. Impulse buying occurs more frequently in the aisles than from displays. One of displays’ functions can be guiding shoppers to the aisles and once there, they will browse the products on the shelves. Displays do have the potential to increase the number of purchases in the category. Their influence is the most positive in the case of dolls and vehicles.
