Children’s Day: Hungarian parents buy gifts between HUF 5-10,000
The game, the experience and the book are the most popular children’s day gifts for Hungarian families – according to a recent research by REGIO JÁTÉK. With the arrival of good weather, outdoor games top the list, but many people choose creative toys or LEGO sets for the holiday. According to the toy store’s sales data, the Children’s Day shopping fever is strongest in the eastern and northeastern parts of the country, but there will be no shortage of events throughout the country.
Hungarian families celebrate their children on the last Sunday of May: the country is filled with bouncy castles and children’s day programs, and even if the weather is good, the fun itself is a kind of gift, and young people can expect more surprises. REGIO JÁTÉK’s recent research revealed that parents and grandparents most often buy games, experiences and books as gifts.
“As summer approaches, outdoor games clearly take the lead, this year many people choose, for example, more serious bubble machines or sponge shooters, but creative, developmental toys and LEGO sets are also big favorites”
– said Dávid Gyaraki, deputy managing director of REGIO JÁTÉK.
On the occasion of Children’s Day, half of the respondents are looking for toys between HUF 5-10,000, 30 percent spend less than HUF 5,000, and another 20 percent spend more than HUF 10,000.
