GVH: 2020 was about consumer protection and merger control
Last year, the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) closed 51 competition supervision proceedings, of which 29 were on consumer protection, 14 on merger control, and 4-4 cases concerned the investigation of dominance and anti-competitive agreements, the GVH said in its first quick report.
According to the publication, in 2020 the GVH approved a total of 64 mergers, in two of which it imposed some condition or obligation.
According to the report, in 2020, 1,441 complaints and 108 reports were filed by citizens and businesses, which is an increase of more than 33 percent compared to 2019. (MTI)
