Gundel Award 2017
This year’s winner of the Gundel Károly Award is Balázs Csapody, the owner of Kistücsök Restaurant in Balatonszemes. Mr Csapody has been working hard for many years for the success of regional food products and wines made on the southern side of Lake Balaton. He also played an important role in organising the 2016 Bocuse d’Or Europe competition. The owner of Kistücsök has given innumerable presentations and taken part in several educational projects to contribute to the development of the profession in Hungary.
The award will be presented to the winner on 19 November 2017 (Sunday) at 12:00, at the end-of-year gala dinner of the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI). This year the event will commemorate József Dobos C., who was born 170 years ago: Hungary’s best chefs led by Attila Bicsár will cook using recipes from Mr Dobos C.’s famous 1881 cookbook, Magyar-franczia szakácskönyv, using today’s modern technology and serving the dishes in a creative fashion. //
