GFM: another step to suppress inflation, the working group preparing the online price monitoring system was created
The protracted war and the failed sanctions are affecting the economy throughout Europe, causing an energy crisis and inflation. The government has set itself the goal of reducing inflation to single digits by the end of the year in order to protect families, full employment and pensioners, as well as prevent recession, the Ministry of Economic Development (GFM) pointed out in a statement issued on Monday.
Decisions have already been made on 20 measures to curb price increases, the anti-inflationary measures – including the food price cap and the interest cap – are working, inflation has peaked and started to slowly decrease – repeated the GFM.
However, the government is constantly looking for ways to further reduce inflation. The Ministry of Economic Development thus supported the pro-competitive proposal of the President of the Economic Competition Authority (GVH), which was aimed at creating an online price monitoring database. In order to create the appropriate legal environment and to create and operate the database as soon as possible, a joint working group was formed on Monday, whose tasks concerning the government are coordinated by the GFM’s secretary of state responsible for economic development and national financial services, the ministry announced.
