Dr. László Csizmadia
retired director general
BGF KVIK
I had started my career as a lawyer, but I soon switched to working in hospitality. My first boss had been Ferenc Gundel in Nemzeti and later his son was one of my students.
What does the Gundel Award mean to you?
I think this is the most prestigious Hungarian hospitality award. I am very happy to have won it, because I worked hard all my life.
Who are those former students of yours that your still proud of?
Just to name a few: László Kovács, Kálmán Kozma, Ákos Niklai, Gábor Budai, Péter Oláh and István Csucsi.
Which are your favourite Hungarian restaurants?
I prefer the oldschool style, the red and white chequered tablecloth: I like Tanyacsárda, Kistücsök, Biarritz and Alabárdos. //
